Portugal Sports Hub was represented in the 2024 SHARE 2.0 Annual Conference, held on 11 September at the Albert Borschette Centre in Brussels. The conference, organized by the European Commission and ICF consultancy, brought together key stakeholders to discuss health, innovation, and sustainability in the context of sport and physical activity.
The event opened with welcoming remarks from Normunds Popens, Deputy Director General of DG EAC, and Florencia Van Houd, Head of the Sport Unit, DG EAC. This was followed by an overview of the SHARE 2.0 Initiative, focusing on recent activities and future plans aimed at promoting exchange of best practices and improving access to EU funding in the fields of sport and physical activity.
The conference featured parallel working sessions that reflected the three main Communities of Practice (CoP): health, innovation, and sustainability. Portugal Sports Hub participated in discussions on sustainability and green sport, contributing with our expertise alongside key stakeholders to influence future EU priorities, policies, programmes and also (new) funding opportunities related to sport.
The event concluded with a summary of the breakout sessions, offering all participants a comprehensive understanding of the main challenges and opportunities discussed.
The SHARE 2.0 initiative, supported by the European Commission, plays a vital role in shaping future EU policies, priorities, and funding opportunities related to sport.
