The No1Behind project, co-funded by Erasmus+ Program of the European Commission, had its official Kick-Off off in Lisbon on the 8th of February 2025. The project aims to increase the participation of children and young people with disabilities in sport by promoting an active and ecological lifestyle for active citizenship, strengthening integrity and values in sport by supporting a sustainable sports policy, as well as ensuring sectoral collaboration to raise awareness of the contribution sport can make.
We know that sporting activity can help children learn valuable life skills such as teamwork, leadership and communication. By including children and young people with disabilities in sport, we can create a more equitable society where everyone can reach their full potential.
Bearing in mind that the foundation for healthy growth is laid in early childhood and the behaviors acquired in the early years shape our lives as adults and influence lifelong health, the No1Behind project will provide training and coaching activities for trainers, creating opportunities to exchange best practices, develop skills and encourage innovative ideas on inclusion measures.
In this project, Pais 21 – Down Portugal is collaborating with the Center for Active Youth from Noth Macedonia, the Makedonski Olimpiski Komitet and the Fundación Eusebio Sacrístan from Spain.
