The PREFERAL project (Promoting Equality and Inclusion through Outdoor Sports and Recreational Activities), co-funded by the European Union through the Erasmus+ Sport programme, held its second Transnational Project Meeting (TPM2) in Ulricehamn, Sweden, on 8–9 September 2026.
The two-day meeting brought project partners together to review progress, strengthen cooperation and prepare the next phase of implementation, focusing on the development of educational resources and digital learning opportunities to promote equality and inclusion through outdoor sports and recreational activities.
The first day focused on project management, survey implementation, needs analysis and the development of the PREFERAL curriculum. Partners discussed the curriculum’s two-module structure, learning outcomes, accessibility requirements and assessment methods. They also worked on defining the requirements for the project’s e-platform, ensuring alignment between the educational content and the digital learning environment.
A key highlight was the official Swedish study visit, during which participants observed a Funkis inclusive sport session. The visit provided an opportunity to explore practical approaches to accessibility, adapted sports activities, participant-centred delivery, communication and wellbeing. The observations will help inform the project’s curriculum and accessibility guidance.
On the second day, partners reflected on the study visit and agreed on the curriculum production plan, including content responsibilities, quality review, translation and publication milestones. Discussions also addressed communication and dissemination activities, website and social media updates, stakeholder engagement, and the roadmap for upcoming project deliverables.
The meeting concluded with an action plan outlining responsibilities, deadlines and priorities for the next implementation phase, including the PREFERAL curriculum, e-platform and platform guide.
Through this meeting, the PREFERAL partnership reinforced its commitment to making outdoor sports and recreational activities more accessible and inclusive, supporting the development of practical educational resources and promoting equal opportunities for participation.
The partners on this project are ADCS Carvalhais from Portugal, NYSA from Sweden and Pylon One from Greece.
