The Professional Football Players Union (Sindicato dos Jogadores Profissionais de Futebol) has been represented in the first meeting of the Sport4E project consortium – Skills through sport for employability and employment, funded by the Erasmus+ programme, which was held at the Instituto Superior de Contabilidade e Administração do Porto (ISCAP) in Portugal on the 27th and 28th April.
Among the objectives of this project, the creation of educational materials aimed at the development and implementation of the so-called soft skills and competences acquired in the sports environment, reconverted to facilitate the reintegration of athletes in the labour market, stand out.
Participation in this European project is another initiative of the Players’ Union to value the skills and competences acquired by players, promoting training from the beginning of their career and, in particular, in the transition period, in order to improve the success rates in terms of employability, investment and development of personal projects, namely in the area of entrepreneurship.
Besides ISCAP and the Players’ Union from Portugal, the partners of this project are Technische Universität München (Germany), CEIPES (Italy), Budapest Association for International Sports (Hungary) and Tempo Finito SLL (Spain).
