Partners of the Equal Play project gathered in Šibenik, Croatia, from 4th to 7th May for an important Transnational Project Meeting (TPM) and a series of collaborative activities aimed at strengthening the project’s progress and reinforcing its mission of promoting equality, inclusion, and participation through sport.
The meeting brought together representatives from the partner organizations in Spain, Portugal, Turkey, Cyprus and Croatia to review the current state of implementation and coordinate the next stages of the project. The meeting created an opportunity for partners not only to assess ongoing work packages and deliverables, but also to exchange ideas, strengthen cooperation, and connect through practical sporting activities.
During the coordination meeting, participants focused on key project management aspects, including the review of current deliverables, upcoming reporting obligations, and planning for future project activities.
Beyond the formal sessions, participants took part in workshops and basketball training activities, reflecting the project’s commitment to combining learning with practical engagement through sport. These activities provided an opportunity to exchange experiences, promote teamwork, and demonstrate the role of sport as a tool for equality.
The programme also included a guided visit around the historic city of Šibenik, allowing participants to discover local cultural and sporting landmarks, including locations connected to Croatian basketball heritage and the legacy of Dražen Petrović.
The Šibenik meeting represented another significant milestone for Equal Play, reinforcing the project’s shared vision and strengthening cooperation among partners as they continue working towards creating more inclusive and equal opportunities through sport.
