On 26 September, ADCS Carvalhais organised a mixed 3×3 basketball tournament in Carvalhais as part of the European Week of Sport, bringing young people together through sport, inclusion and gender equality. The initiative was held within the framework of the Erasmus+ Project EqualHoops 3×3, which promotes equal participation of boys and girls in 3×3 basketball.
The competition gave young participants the opportunity to showcase their sporting skills, strengthen team spirit and share the values of respect, cooperation and inclusion that are at the heart of the project.
At the end of the tournament, the two winning teams secured their places in the European Final Tournament, which will take place in Barcelona on 13 and 14 November 2026. This participation represents an opportunity for the young players to meet participants from other countries, promote intercultural exchange and gain a sporting experience at European level.

EqualHoops 3×3 is a European initiative that uses mixed 3×3 basketball as a tool to break down barriers to sports participation, with a particular focus on encouraging girls to take part. The project aims to create more inclusive sporting environments, strengthen collaboration between clubs and youth organisations, and share good practices that can inspire other inclusive sporting initiatives across Europe.
Beyond competition, the project highlights the role of sport in promoting equal opportunities, friendship and interaction between young people from different cultural backgrounds.
Through this initiative, ADCS Carvalhais continues to contribute to the development of local sporting activities and to create opportunities for young people to participate in European projects, with two teams now set to represent the local community at the European Final in Barcelona.
