Portugal Sports Hub has been recently in Istanbul in Turkey for a two days’ work meeting representing the Portuguese Hockey Federation in the Project “EU JOIN US”.
This was the first physical meeting between the partner organisations that are part of the consortium of this project, the organisations are from Spain, Italy, Turkey and Portugal
“EU JOIN US” is a 120 000 Euro project aimed at promoting inclusive sport as the reference model for the practice of sports by people with Down syndrome and intellectual disabilities, strengthening the networking, training and awareness of the agents involved and analysing the impact that inclusive sports actions have on the sports clubs and people with Down syndrome themselves.
To achieve its objectives, the Project has a consortium made up of expert associations in the field of Down syndrome and intellectual disabilities, sports clubs and federations with experience in the promotion of inclusive sports, and Universities with a large expertise in the fields of sport and social research.
