The opening of the Erasmus+ project ‘Flying Forward’ took place last Wednesday, 11th December, in Oslo, Norway.
The project addresses the use of drones in various sectors of football, from training to events management and even motorising the quality of the pitches.
The specific objectives of the Flying Forward project are:
– Support the development of skills in the football sector by researching and evaluating the current use and potential of drones.
– Improve the quality of coaches and staff by using innovative drone simulation training courses, supported by Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality technologies.
– Improve the quality of grass pitches with drone-based 3D modelling and implementation of data analysis.
– Using mobility as a tool to improve qualifications, promoting the sharing of knowledge and best practices between football clubs and organisations across Europe.
– Promote employability through sport by providing staff with practical experience in drone-based solutions.
– Prepare sports professionals for future careers in drone technology by equipping them with the necessary knowledge, skills and experience.
– Utilising a web platform for drone-trained club staff to interact with the football industry, providing them with an understanding of the sector and its potential challenges and opportunities.
There are four partner organisations in this project: Collective Innovation (Norway), Sport Tech (Turkey), IFK Korrkoping (Sweden) and Bragança FA (Portugal).
