The wonderful city of Porto host on the last 18th of June the Kick-Off Meeting of the Erasmus+ Sport Project “STRANGE- Sport against stereotypes for promotion of gender equality”.
This is a collaborative partnership funded by Erasmus+ program with partner organizations from five European countries. These partners have expertise in fields sport, education, and gender issues both locally and internationally.
The aim of the STRANGE project is to combat gender inequality within sports, with a focus on fostering inclusivity at the grassroots level. Specifically targeting individuals aged 18 to 30, the project seeks to dismantle gender-based barriers and address discrimination in sports, particularly pertaining to gender and sexual orientation.
The primary outcomes of the STRANGE project will include the development of a comprehensive training manual on gender mainstreaming tailored for coaches and sport managers, innovative sport curricula grounded in Non-Formal Education principles, and a series of sports activities culminating in a final tournament aimed at fostering inclusivity and raising awareness.
The project will have implementation across the five partner countries: Portugal, Spain, Italy, Malta, and Cyprus.
The coordinator of this project is the Porto Football Association.
