The city of Peja, Kosovo, hosted from the 23rd till the 25th of March 2026, an important milestone of the “FAIR GAME – Gender Equal Access to Movement and Exercise” project under the support of the Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values (CERV) Programme, bringing together 14 project partners, stakeholders and participants for an International Conference and the Project Kick-Off Meeting at Hotel Dukagjini.
The event provided a valuable platform for dialogue, cooperation and exchange of experiences on promoting gender equality and increasing women’s participation in sport across Europe.
Participants also had the opportunity to take part in a study visit to the National Judo Centre in Peja, where they learned about inspiring success stories and discussed the importance of female role models in sport, including the international legacy created by Kosovo’s judo achievements.
The following day, project partners held the FAIR GAME Project Kick-Off Meeting, where they discussed work packages, project timelines, responsibilities and communication strategies for the upcoming implementation period.
The meeting in Peja marked the beginning of a shared journey towards building more inclusive sporting environments and promoting equal opportunities for women and girls across Europe. Through international cooperation and local engagement, FAIR GAME aims to create lasting impact and strengthen the values of equality, participation and social inclusion.
FAIR GAME is funded by the Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values (CERV) Programme of the European Union. The Portuguese organizations participating in this project are the Municipality of Macedo de Cavaleiros and the Bragança FA.
The next project meeting will be in June in the city of Vicenza.
