As part of the “Mobility for Sports Staff” project under the Erasmus+ programme, specifically in the “KA-182” action, led by the Opole Football Association in Poland, the Bragança Football Association hosted a delegation of six members from this Polish regional football association duting last week.
In addition to visiting the headquarters of the Bragança Football Association, where participants were able to learn about the AFB’s operations, its competitions, events and projects, those taking part in this Erasmus+ mobility programme also had the opportunity to watch the “Portugal vs. Nigeria” match as part of the Portuguese national team’s preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
This is not the first time that the Bragança Football Association has hosted a sports-related exchange, as it had already welcomed a group of football coaches from Slovenia in October 2023.
The Erasmus+ mobility programme for sports staff supports European partnerships linked mainly to grassroots sport. Ultimately, the aim of this type of project is to establish a European network of coaches and sports staff. The Erasmus+ programme aims to provide staff at sports organisations, particularly at grassroots level, with the opportunity to improve their skills and qualifications. Coaches, managers and other sports staff can acquire new skills through this type of mobility by spending time abroad in a partner country, bringing back to their home country new ideas that can contribute to capacity building and the development of the sports organisation where they work.
