
Between 17 and 20 May 2026, CTM Mirandela hosted the Irish and Finnish Table Tennis Federations as part of the Erasmus+ Sport project “TT Making Connection”.
CTM Mirandela is the powerhouse of table tennis in Portugal and currently runs the “Mirandela International Centre” at its facilities, which hosts hundreds of international players every year.
This visit was attended by coaches and officials from the Irish and Finnish Table Tennis Federations, who had the opportunity to see first-hand the work carried out by the Mirandela Table Tennis Club, with particular emphasis on its strong links with schools and the promotion of the sport among younger age groups.
During the visit, working methodologies, training dynamics and sports development strategies implemented locally were presented, highlighting the club’s role in training athletes and promoting sport.
This initiative highlights the importance of international cooperation in the sporting and educational context, reinforcing sport as a tool for bringing countries, institutions and communities closer together. This meeting also contribute to strengthening European collaboration networks, creating new development opportunities for young athletes and for the future of table tennis in the countries involved in the project.
