Last 23rd and 24th April the city of Fundão in Portugal hosted the Kick-Off of the Green Sport 2030 Ersmus+ Sport Project.
This project is a transformative initiative that integrates sustainability, digitalization, and policy innovation into the sports sector. The project aims to develop the AI-powered GreenSport Hub, a digital platform enabling sports organizations to monitor environmental impact, reduce carbon footprint, and implement sustainable practices.
To achieve this, Green Sport 2030 will conduct a needs analysis and policy review to define sustainability challenges in grassroots and professional sports. Based on these insights, the project will develop an AI-drivensustainability tracking tool, pilot it in 50 sports organizations, and provide training programs for coaches and sports managers to build capacity in sustainable sports management.
